Terms of Use
Last updated September 2026
By using Bio Rust you agree to these straightforward terms.
The tutorials
The written tutorials and reference material are provided free for you to read and learn from. You are welcome to apply what you learn in your own work, commercial or personal. Please do not republish the tutorial text wholesale as your own; link to it instead.
The free resources
Brush sets, textures, and palettes are free to use in personal and commercial projects with no attribution required. You may not resell or redistribute the resource files themselves as your own pack.
No warranty
The content is provided as is, as a good faith reference for artists. We take care to be accurate, but we make no guarantee that a given technique will suit your specific project or tool.
Quoting and linking
Short quotes of a sentence or two, with a link back to the tutorial, are welcome in reviews, lesson plans, forum answers, and articles. Teachers may use the tutorials in class and link students to them. Linking to any page on the site is always fine and needs no permission.
Your own work
Anything you make while following a tutorial or using a resource is yours. Bio Rust claims no rights in your artwork, and you do not need to credit the library, although it is always appreciated.
Images on the site
The section header images are illustrative and are not part of the free resources. Please do not reuse them as stock images. How they are made is disclosed in the methodology page.
Accuracy of the techniques
Painting apps change their menus and names over time. If a step no longer matches your version of an app, the underlying technique still applies; look for the equivalent feature, and let us know so the tutorial can be updated.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date above will change with them. Changes will not remove rights you already had to use a resource you downloaded under earlier terms. How reader data is handled is covered separately in the Bio Rust privacy policy, and the full list of sets is on the free resources page.
