About Bio Rust
Bio Rust is a free digital art technique library. It has, in one form or another, taught people to draw and paint since the mid two thousands, when it was one of the early homes for character art and studio tutorials on the web. This is that library, kept alive and rebuilt for the artists using it now.
What we are
A calm, technique first reference. Not a course to buy, not a feed to scroll, not a marketplace. Four pillars of craft: character and anime art, digital painting, free brush resources, and a growing archive of tutorials, each written to be read in a few minutes and applied immediately.
Made by hand
Everything here is built on a single conviction: that human creative skill has value, and that the value does not disappear because a machine can now generate a picture. A generated image has no hand behind it that can change it, no eye that knows why it works. Those are still earned the old way. So Bio Rust teaches the old way, plainly and for free.
This is not hostility to new tools. It is a preference for craft, and a place for the artists who share it. If you want to actually make the thing, with your own hand and your own judgement, this library is for you.
How it is written
Every technique is written as a method: a repeatable order of decisions, so that the hard part moves out of the moment and into the habit. Where a step needs a specific tool named, it is named. Where it does not, it is kept tool agnostic, because the craft outlives any one app.
Free to read, free to use, no account, no email. Just the techniques, taught by people who draw.
